The Solar Eclipse 1999 From Romania
Peter Samwel observed the solar eclipse near Ramnici Valcea in Romania, almost at the place of maximum eclipse.
In the morning of 11 Aug., the sky was overcast, but later became clear so that he
could observe the eclipse in its entirety.
Peter shot a sequence of the total phase of the eclipse. The pictures show numerous features from prominences to the outer corona:
The pictures have been obtained with a telephoto lens of 400 mm focal length, and exposure times from 1/1000 sec to 2 secs. (100 ASA slide film).
