Attaching the platform with a 1000 mm lens, a 500mm lens and a spectrograph
to an equatorial mount. Control of the cameras (operation of shutter and setting of exposure times)
is made by a microprocessor (not visible in this image).
The cables to the stepping motors for setting the exposure times are not yet connected.
Setup of the microprocessor. The cables lead to the camera shutters and to the stepping motors for setting
the exposure times. You can also see the antenna which receives the DCF time signal
from Frankfurt. Thus the processor "knows" the exact time and can automatically operate the cameras and take pictures at predetermined times,
following a simple BASIC routine.
Waiting for totality...
The cameras on the tripod to the left have been operated manually. To the right the microprocessor-controlled platform with three cameras.
The red box contains a car battery for power supply.
