February 2014: Deep-sky images with a modified Canon D600 camera

Manfred Rudolf

In February there were some clear nights here in Munich, so I could try a modified Canon D600 camera (IR block filter completely removed). All images have been taken with an unguided C11, exposure times 30-40 seconds at ISO 6400, stacked and processed with Fitswork and Photoshop.

The spiral galaxy M51 in Canes Venatici. 200 exposures 30 seconds.

same data as above, but processed to remove the "burnt-out" nucleus

The Owl nebula M97 in Ursa Major. North to the left.

The edge-on galaxy NGC4565 in Coma Berenices.

Globular cluster M13.

Orion nebula M42 with a 500mm f/8 telephoto lens
