28.01.2008: Mars

Ciancarlo Lombardi

After a bit of inactivity and with a new laptop, I got the following images of Mars. The phase is not so exciting (Syrtis Maior and Elysium; Hellas coming out in the south) and Mars starts to be clearly gibbous. Apparent diameter about 12". However, there are some remarks. Seeing was quite good. You can notice the north polar hood and below it some morning clouds just above the upper tip of Syrtis Maior.

Instrumentation: my C9"1/4, Barlow 3x, Toucam Pro II, no filters (between 700 and 1200 frames stacked per image).
